Located in the western end of the Algarve, Lagos is a charming old town set within ancient walls that make an attractive contrast with the newly developed, modern port. There are plenty of attractions including beautiful golf courses, wide sandy beaches interspersed with romantic and deserted sandy alcoves, and a stunning coastline that can be discovered by boat or by endless walks. You are also a quick drive from Portugal's West Coast, one of the few remaining areas of natural unspoilt coastline in Europe with not a soul around.
